Wanna save a buck but still go out to eat? Check out restaurant.com, a website that lets you buy gift certificate at a fraction of their value. For example, I could buy a gift certificate for the Hungry Horse Grill for $10 that has a redemption of $25. I haven’t used the site myself as there aren’t any restaurants listed that I regularly attend; but if you try it and it works well, please let me know!
For all you facebook users out there, you might care about their new Terms of Service where you sign over all rights to everything but your dog (but you probably don’t).
For more pictures and less text, check out Trick Photography with Books & Magazines, which I have come to find out is also commonly referred to as sleevefacing.
Or maybe you’d rather check out these cars (and a house) with a weight problem.
And if pictures still aren’t good enough, here’s a clever little video I saw today:
You can check out some of the other videos by “sheepfilms” at their YouTube channel.
Here’s a couple of links for you. Check out Urban knitting for an interesting take on “graffiti”.
For some more ninja shit, check out urban camouflage by artist Desiree Palmen. You can even take it a step further and go camo without the clothes. Check out camo body painting (possibly NSFW).
I saw an article today posted on the Human Society’s website talking about Petland and their use of Puppy Mills although they claim the contrary.
From the article (click here to read the whole thing):
Documented USDA violations at some of Petland’s breeders and suppliers included dirty, unkempt enclosures; inadequate shelter from the cold; dogs kept in too small cages; and inadequate veterinary care. Some of the breeders were found with sick or dead dogs in their cages.
Now Petland is a franchise, not a chain so some may argue that it would be unfair to attack a particular store not knowing if it is an offender or not. However I think it’s more important to send a proper message. Go read the article and decide for yourself. Some things you can do to help:
As government bailouts is a hot topic right now I thought this link would be worth sharing. It’s an interesting post: “How Many Zeros in a Billion?”
